Single Payer Healthcare Reform is the only way to go

My two cents on the health care issue

First, let me state that I have been a republican for years but I am to the point where I am disgusted with the party and their ties to big business. It all started with John Boehner R-Ohio and his sickening ties to Sallie Mae, the giant student loan company that he has been in bed with for years. Now we have health care. The right wants you to believe that they have a better idea. There is no better idea than single payer government health insurance. The fact of the matter is, the health insurance industry is profit or pay driven. Blue Cross of Florida pays the CEO over 3 million a year! We have Blue Cross and my wife recently went to the the emergency room. The total bill was over $ 6000.00. Blue Cross paid about $ 1800.00 and we had to pay $ 250.00. Without insurance, we would have had a $ 6,000 bill! What is up with this. To anyone that says that anyone that wants single payer is a bum and won't work, well maybe you need to lose your job like so many hard working Americans and find out the new reality. Where is the compassion here? I would rather have every American get Medicare where the overhead is less than 10% than the current 30-50 % that private insurers have now to pay their CEO.s and make a profit. The party that doesn't support abortion because it is taking an innocent life has no problem letting people die because they put off going to the Doctor for too long and die because they can't afford medical care. If we do not do something major with health insurance there is a good chance that YOU will not be covered in ten years. The current rate increases for health care premiums is not sustainable and will bankrupt us. The crap that is being considered right now is probably the best that we will get because the right killed the single payer from the get go.
